PATEK PHILIPPE 5020 Chronograph Watch in 18k Yellow Gold.
Arguably the most innovative in ‘haute horology’, this rare Patek Philippe 5020 Chronograph Watch features an elegant gold tonneau-shaped case. Additionally, a black alligator strap and yellow gold tang buckle balance conjure a classic look on the wrist. Although, perhaps the most emblematic feature of the timepiece and brand is the Perpetual Calendar.
Patek Philippe is known as the first maison to create this type of wristwatch back in 1925. However, there are earlier records within the company dating from 1898 when a women’s pendant watch housed the concept. Historically the brand is credited as the first to launch the Chronograph Perpetual Calendar wristwatch in 1944. In addition, Patek Philippe is known as the first with the self-winding feature launching in 1962. No other Swiss watchmaker could achieve this feat until 16 years later.
Attributes of this timepiece include transparent movement, front face highlighting month, date, day, hours, minutes. In addition, there are moon phase and leap year indicators as well as elegant Breguet / Arabic numerals throughout.
