VAN CLEEF & ARPELS Diamond Pearl Detachable Earrings in Platinum.
A pair of notable mid-century diamond and pearl earrings by Van Cleef & Arpels. The 1950s brought a return to a classic diamond look for the Maison, as well as the concept of convertibility for a variety of wear. Each surmount features a gorgeous round pearl surrounded with a halo of alternating marquise and baguette-cut diamonds, suspending a pear-shaped drop pearl capped with a floret of round brilliant diamonds. The pearls are rare and of the natural saltwater variety. Formed in a mollusk with no human interference, natural pearls comprise an estimated 5% of pearls on the market today. All four pearls match beautifully, with a white to silver/grey hue, brilliant luster, pink/blue overtones, and a moderately clean surface.
Diamond weight approx. 10.00 carats total. Top earrings measure approx. 1.07″ in diameter, with height off ear ranging from 0.20″ to 0.50″. Circular pearls measure approx. 10.76mm in diameter and 10.60. Detachable droplet measures approx. 1″ in length, 0.40 in width tapering to 0.25″ at top. Drop pearls measure approx. 16mm x 12mm each. Ear clips are currently for non-pierced ears, however posts can be added for pierced ears.
